ANGEL - RUAN VAN TUBBERGH

Ruan was born on the 18th of July 2006 to an ecstatic Yolandie.

When Ruan was just 8 months old, after fighting several severe upper respiratory tract infections , blood tests revealed Ruan had leukemia .

Ruan was treated by Dr De Jager at Little Company of Mary Hospital for 2 years. We fell in love with beautiful Ruan the day we met him, and we knew we would be friends with his amazing family for life. Deqlan and Ruan shared some special moments between the glass doors of our rooms and even played together at the golf day held to raise funds for Ruans on going treatment.

There were many ups and downs in his treatment and in September last year it was decided Ruans best chance was to have a stem cell transplant. Ruans leukemia seemed to have disappeared , but unfortunately Ruan suffered many negative side effects from the very harsh transplant - one being a virus he picked up from the donor. He lost an incredible amount of weight and stopped eating . He spent many days in icu and many many days in the oncology ward at Unitas hospital.

Ruans lungs were found to be severely damaged and hos other organs taken a severe beating from all the treatment

On the evening of 28 January 2009, Our Lord called Ruan home to be with Him , healed in His heavenly kingdom.

It is really hard and touching for me to do this post - but what i will remember about our very very special friend Ruan is what will make me smile and carry him in my heart and prayers always. We know you are running around now Ruan, pain free and enjoying dancing with Barney and lots of friends! We love you and we miss you and I promise you my friendship to your Mommy always and forever

Please pray for precious Ruan and for his Mommy and his grandparents who love him so dearly.

In memory of Adorable Little Ruan,

Memories are precious, little soul and it's the certain knowledge you are safe in the hands of Jesus as well as the wonderful memories of you, that make us smile and celebrate your life each and everytime we remember you. Happy times playing "peek-a-boo" through the glass doors separating us, watching the green little musical car race round your ward, observing your wonder the first time I blew bubbles for you in your ward and of course, your beloved Barney. You are pain-free and enjoying the well-deserved delights of the Lord's promised paradise.

Your Mommy Yolandie and your Oupa and Ouma as well as your family and friends adored you and had immeasurable love for you. The heartache they have experienced in losing you, we pray is now being replaced, little bits at a time, with comfort, acceptance and peace. We promise to always keep them in our prayers and to keep contact with them.

You will forever have a special place in our hearts. As Meggie & Keaton say and Samm and Deqlan say "I love you, You love me".

With lots and lots of love,

"Ouma Bubbles"
aka Aunty Bev and Uncle Derek
