CHICKEN POX, TICK PREVENAR, TICK

Hello Deqlans Army
I know i dont have to tell you all how tough our little soldier is ...he is the bravest person i know!

The vaccines went very very well, and we had two nurses helping yesterday - the one armed with Chicken pox , the other with prevenar.Deqlan sat on my lap they counted together and gave a shot in each arm at the same time- Deqlan moaned a bit, more because i was holding him still - he got off my lap and that was that - we are vaccinated against chicken pox and some of the pneumococcal infections that can affect ear infections, pneumonia and meningitis! Hooray! Some more soldiers to help our soldiers body continue keeping the bad guys out and the good guys in! Our next cocktail shall be hepatitis a and perhaps another measles but only a few months away.Thank you Nanna and Grandpa for coming with us, for holding Deqlan and my hand and for always being there for us, no matter what, we love you our guardian angels, more then you will know

Deqlan fell asleep in the car on the way home, round 6pm and only woke up at 0730am this morning!!! Definitely a record, although he was restless during the night and played a bit with Dad at 5am this morning, he got the much needed sleep he was after.

No fevers, no reactions yet, and we pray and trust it will continue this way!

We are going to have the ultrasound next Friday, along with the blood and urine tests for our routine 3 month check up - when we do the blood test we are going to do a teeter test (forgive me for spelling not quite sure if i have this one right) - this will tell us what Deqlan has immunity for and what we still need to give him.

I had a little get together with Esedra, Deqlans speech therapist yesterday and they have given us some great suggestions for the next steps in Deqlans therapy- we have lots to think about and talk about and decide on, but we are so excited to get Deqlan into a little play group a few times a week to start him getting used to kids and routine.so watch this space for all the details! We are also going to start our spech and occupational therapy again, but sadly, we are going to try a new specch therapsit Martie, who will have a stricter approach - who knows ,maybe something different will be ignited? We will miss you terribly Esedra, please please stay in touch!

We have also found the most stunning school called Little Leaps, which specialises in kids on the spectrum. Whats even more wonderful is the lady that runs it happens to have gone to high school with me! Ashley is so knowledgabe on the subject and has years of experience from the UK to - she is so passionate about what she does and has already helped me a whole lot! The school takes kids from 3- 7 - so its like a bridging school for primary school, be it main stream or a specialised school like Unica...only time will tell where our precious soldier will fit best into.
Got the disc from Loren yesterday with the rest of the pics from our shoot, and they are breathtaking i think - so enjoy them as much as we did! Thank you so much my love for the most stunning birthday present i could ever imagine , i will treasure our memories always

Enjoy Halloween to those who are trick or treating tonight look so forward to checking all your sites to see the costumes!
God Bless, thanks for all your prayers, have a super weekend, all our love
Mark, Samm, Deqlan
BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

MR MALAKAI, CUTE AS A BUTTON!
Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to do this update since Sunday!! But had terrible problems with loading things on the blog and then just got caught up in work and play and decided to give it a go now while a have a few minutes!
Lets go back a week - we met Megs and Keaton, Loren and Kai ,Elriza and Caden for some tea and much needed cake ! The boys were as good as gold together, Deqlan is the only mobile one at the moment, can you imagine all four of them running around together! Cant wait! The boys are all growing so quickly but as cute and adorable as ever, what blessings from above!
Saturday morning started off with us celebrating the 1 year mark since Deqlans last chemo , and we had a photo shoot with our amazing friend Loren to celebrate! This was also an early 30th Birthday gift from my wonderful husband - couldnt think of anything better then to capture and treasure the memories of that day always.
Afterwards the boys went home from a nap and I met up with my cousin Kejenne,Mom, Megs & Keaton at Harrys Pancakes - the pancakes where out of this world! But the company even better! It was wonderful to catch up with Keje whom i havent seen since Deqlans Christening. Keje is now involved in a wonderful production, which airs on SABC 2 on Saturday nights at 1830 - all about helping under privileged kids reach their dreams and goals of being a rugby star! It was wonderful to see you Keje and we hope you enjoy all the new endeavours that come your way!
Saturday afternoon we went to Megs and Conrad to watch the currie cup final, the boys had a great time swimming and playing pool and just being boys. Megs and I decided to quickly go to the shops and be back in no time at all! Well, the sky started getting dark and we knew we had to hurry to get home. While we were at the till paying, we heard the unbelievable deafening noise of hail hitting the roof of the newly built shop we were in - the next thing the roof starts leaking at the till we are at! Deqlan was most upset at the noise - we all were, but its worse for Deqlan and was crying and not himself - we grabbed the groceries before they where even packed, and the boys and i waited with the boys at the entrance while Meggie got the car, and pulled it as close as possible to the shop that she could - new shop, new roof, leaking - we were not taking any chance! Thankfully the shop is still standing , but we wont be going out again in a hurry when we see such dark skies! The hail was huge - i would say half the size of a golf ball and caused damage to my car, megs and conrad roof was leaking, signs where broken. When we got home , we walked into a kitchen full of water - our roof also leaking from the damage.
On Sunday Mark went through to the Vaal to surprise his mom for her birthday. She most most surprised and Logan was also there, so it was a wonderful surprise for her to! Mark spent the day watching Logan swim and drive on the quad - i am sure she was so chuffed to see mark there ! Cant wait to see you Logs, only a few more weeks!
I am busy re doing Deqlans play room with posters and sorting things out and just want to get it ready for all the learning we are going to be doing in the very near future - so i do feel a bit like Ty and extreme makeover, just not as much mess!
Today is our second set of vaccinations - the cocktail hour this afternoon includes chicken pox and prevenar - please pray that all goes well, that Deqlan tolerates it as well as he did last time, that he has no side effects and that it doesn't worsen any red flags. Please also pray that we are lead to the right decision with the remainder of his vaccinations as we don't want to overload his immune system with to may things at one time!
I also need to ask you for prayers for the following warriors and their families
DECLAN DU TOIT - Declans parents are researching the next best steps for Declan as the doctors have not given a good prognosis - please pray for God to work His miracles in Declan and to guide his doctors and give his family renewed strength and guidance to the right decisions for him. Hang in there Declan, you are such a fighter and we know that the right answer is going to come just for you!
BRODY - In Hospice care- please pray for Brodys miracle and his pain to be eased, please also pray for his family
KODY - Just sent home on hospice car - please pray for Kodys miracles and his pain to be eased, please also pray for his family
ELIZABETH - has just started treatment again for relapsed neuroblastoma, please pray for the chemo to work and for Our Lord to be with her and her family
Please always continue the prayers for all our warriors around the world, please continue to pray for Deqlan as we start the countdown to our next check up - ultrasound next week friday and blood and urine results 21 November
Have a great weekend and let us know how you all are
God Bless and lots of love
Mark, Samm, Deqlan
