Hi All
I am yet again embarking on a challenge to make a different to various charities in the Nelson Mandela Bay area. On Friday 24 at 12h00 I will begin a 24 hour cycle around St Georges Park in order to raise funds for The Red Cross Society, Community Chest and All Hands on Dec Friends. The cycle will hence end at 12h00 on Saturday 25 July.
I will cycle the distance of approximately 360km making 180- 200 trips around St Georges Park and will allow myself a 10 minute break every hour and after 5 hours I will take a 1 hour break to change, shower and eat.
The Red Cross Society, one of the events beneficiaries, focuses on four core areas of health and care, disaster management, organisational development and humanitarian values. The Community Chest, the second beneficiary, aims to alleviate poverty by adding human value and human resource to make a positive impact on the community. Lastly, the All Hands on Dec Friends is a charity set up in memory of young Declan du Toit who passed away on 8 February 2009. This charity works to support, amongst others, the CHOC Childood Cancer Foundation and hopes to fill gaps in key areas for children suffering from cancer We appeal to you and/or your company to assist with the fundraising at this event.
Invite your staff, friends and family to come to Sahara Oval and make a pledge, every little bit helps. Your support during this cycle both financially and mentally will be greatly appreciated. Jumping castles, food stalls and plenty of excitement will ensure that it is a great family outing and I will be greatly motivated by your cheers of encouragement.
Price Water House Coopers remain the auditors for the event and will confirm the results. Please keep in mind when supporting that ALL laps will be taken into account and not only those that I cycle.
